Facebook and Instagram message data

This page explains how to ask us to delete the information we hold from messages you've sent us on Facebook or Instagram.

Who this covers

Skatewarehouse Limited runs the Facebook Pages and Instagram accounts for these brands:

• Lobster Eyewear

Skatewarehouse Limited is the data controller for messages sent to any of them.

What we hold

When you message one of our Facebook Pages or Instagram accounts, our customer service tools receive:

• your messages, and any photos or files you send
• our replies to you
• the name and account ID that Facebook or Instagram shares with us

We use this to reply to you and help with your order or question.

How to ask us to delete it

Email info@skatewarehouse.co.uk with the subject Delete my message data. Please tell us:

• which brand you messaged
• whether it was on Facebook or Instagram
• your Facebook name or Instagram username

You can also write to us at Skatewarehouse Limited, Brightley Mill, Okehampton, Devon, EX20 1RR.

We'll reply within one month and confirm when your data has been deleted.

What we delete

We delete your messages, and the account details that came with them, from our customer service tools. If your messages relate to an order, we may need to keep some details, such as the order record, where the law requires it. We'll tell you if that applies.

Your Facebook and Instagram inbox

Deleting our copy doesn't remove the conversation from your own Facebook or Instagram inbox, or from Meta's systems. You can delete the conversation yourself in Messenger or Instagram. Meta explains how it handles your data in its Privacy Policy.
