Its cleaner, more minimalist profile reduces visual bulk while delivering a significant technical improvement: the new frame is 15% lighter than the previous FR 1 90 frame. The result is a more modern setup that reduces unnecessary weight while preserving the stable and responsive 4 x 90 mm configuration that defines the FR Skates FR 1 90.

The skate also receives a more understated premium finish. The buckles and buckle heads now feature a matte black finish, creating a cleaner and more sophisticated appearance across all colours.

Specification:

Boot: Rigid Polymer Shell with Articulated Cuff.

Liner: Removable and Replaceable.

InSole: Premium Insole

Closure: Secure Buckle and Ratchet Closure System, matte black buckle and buckle-head finish

Frame: 15% Lighter New Lightweight 273 mm Flat Frame, 4 x 90 mm, Minimalist Design.

Wheels: FR Urban Speed 90 mm / 85A

Bearings: FR Twincam MW9 Titalium Freeride

Options: Adjustable Cuff Positioning / 7-Hole Energy Plates / 165 mm Frame Mounting

Use: Freeride / Urban Skating / City Skating / Freestyle

Features:

FR 1 90 V3 – The Evolution of an Urban Experience: For years, the FR Skates FR 1 90 has occupied the central position in the FR Skates FreeRide Range. Its combination of a rigid shell, supportive cuff, precise frame positioning, and compact 4 x 90 mm setup makes it particularly well suited to freeride, city skating, technical urban skating, and freestyle-oriented sessions. The FR 1 90 V3 develops this established formula rather than changing its character. The rigid polymer shell provides the structural support required for precise skating and strong lateral control, while the articulated cuff supports the ankle without preventing the movements needed for dynamic urban skating. Adjustable cuff buttons allow the cuff position to be fine-tuned, while the 7-hole Energy Plates with 165 mm mounting provide multiple frame-positioning possibilities to adapt the setup to the skater’s preferences.

15% Lighter Frame: The most significant technical evolution of the FR Skates FR 1 90 V3 is its newly designed frame. Keeping the compact 273 mm / 4 x 90 mm configuration, the new frame features a more minimalist construction and is 15% lighter than the previous version. Reducing frame weight improves the overall efficiency of the setup, particularly during repeated direction changes, accelerations, crossovers, transitions, and technical urban movements. At the same time, the familiar 4 x 90 mm configuration keeps the skate low to the ground and provides the balance of stability and manoeuvrability that has made the FR Skates FR 1 90 so versatile. It is a setup designed to feel equally at home weaving through the city, training technical freeride movements, or simply covering distance with confidence.

Control, Support and Comfort: The FR Skates FR 1 platform is designed around a supportive hard-shell construction. Combined with the articulated cuff and secure closure system, it provides the foot and ankle support required for controlled, responsive skating. Inside, the removable and replaceable liner provides comfort while allowing the skate to be maintained, customized, or refreshed over time. Premium insoles complete the internal setup. The closure combines secure upper and mid-foot retention with the new matte black hardware, giving the FR Skates FR 1 90 V3 a cleaner visual identity without compromising the robust construction expected from the FR Skates range.

Proven 4 × 90mm Performance: The FR Skates FR 1 90 V3 remains built around one of the most versatile configurations in urban skating. Its FR Urban Speed 90 mm / 85A wheels provide the combination of grip, control, and durability required for everyday freeride and city skating. They are paired with FR Twincam MW9 Titalium Freeride bearings for smooth and efficient rolling performance. Together with the new lighter 273 mm frame, this configuration keeps the FR Skates FR 1 90 responsive enough for technical skating while retaining the stability needed for fast and confident urban use.

A Cleaner, More Modern FR 1: The FR Skates FR 1 90 V3 introduces a more restrained visual language to the FR Skates range. The minimalist frame design and matte black buckle components give the skate a cleaner and more unified appearance, while retaining the recognizable architecture of the FR Skates FR 1. This is not a departure from the FR Skates FR 1 concept. It is its next evolution: lighter, cleaner, and more refined, while remaining built for the demanding urban skating that defined the FR Skates FR 1 from the beginning.

Specifications

Brand: FR Skates

Type: Inline Skates

Colour: Black

Available sizes: UK 5.5, UK 6.5, UK 7.5, UK 8, UK 9, UK 9.5, UK 10.5, UK 11, UK 12

Size Guide

General UK / US / EU size conversion (approx.) — fit can vary by brand; if between sizes we'd suggest sizing up.

UK

US

EU

CM

3

4

35.5

22.5

4

5

37

23.5

5

6

38

24.5

6

7

39

25.5

7

8

40.5

26

8

9

42

27

9

10

43

28

10

11

44.5

29

11

12

46

30

12

13

47

31

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0499/5556/9831/files/1cf3c239-1b70-4f5e-ab6c-9c1c7e8b043c.jpg?v=1793368216
